Second business trip! This time we were going to Beijing for our sales events so it was a more serious trip lol. Went together with RS.
I didn't feel very well after eating this, but didn't think too much about it since we just got off the cab and I might just have been a bit carsick. We took SQ. After we boarded the plane, there was this weird Indian guy beside me and he was quite plump so he was kind of spilling out of his seat, and he couldn't stop staring at the two of us and it got quite eerie, so we requested to change our seats and fortunately there were empty seats at the back!
Throughout the journey I was feeling super sick and I didn't even touch my food at all. What a waste! It was Airbus 380 and I thought I would feel really comfortable in it but guess not. Probably had flu or something.
We reached BJ at about 2.40pm, and it took a REALLY long time to get out of the airport. Guess what? Our luggage didn't arrive in BJ. It got delayed and was on the next plane. And our luggage were the only 2 that got delayed WTH! Really bad luck brian leh. I was wearing a t-shirt at 11 degrees... And when we asked the airport staff what happened to our luggage, she just said like oh this is very normal, it will arrive on the next plane. Like hello??? How is this normal?? And she didn't offer any explanation or apology whatsoever, and we just got super pissed.
So no choice, we just headed to our hotel first, Marco Polo at Olympic village.
The hotel was not bad and room was nice, but Beijing people are really not so friendly.
We started the sales training at about 6pm at the cafe downstairs, and it was my first time, plus in Chinese, so it wasn't that smooth but oh wells. It ended at about 8pm.
We headed out to get some dinner, and also to get some medicine. There was this building with lot of food just around the corner!
It has basically everything you'd need lol.
It was always super easy for two of us to find food cos we both like spicy stuff. Ate 毛血旺 and some 藕 and chicken. Added up to about 30 SGD. Super cheap? But it was quite disappointing that the 毛血旺 wasn't spicy at all LOL. We asked for more chilli and the waitress kept asking are you sure?? And in the end they added quite a lot of chilli for us but it still wasn't spicy... Just became more salty -.-
We went back to the hotel to derp while waiting for our luggage... Wouldn't be able to work the next day without all our clothes and materials!!! It only came at 2am!!! Omgosh. I was so damn tired and I think I had already fallen asleep when the luggage finally arrived.

We went to the expo at about 9+ or 10 I think. Super tired from the previous day, but no choice!!
This is the China National Convention Centre, really near 鸟巢. The security was super lame, sometimes they wanna check your bag, and sometimes they just let you in -.- We spent the day sitting there at our booth and collected some award in the afternoon. We left at about 4pm cos there weren't a lot of attendees.
Got some snacks to eat while doing debrief. RS went to the gym but I didn't feel like going so just derped in the room LOL. We went to eat 烤鸭 at night! Although there was a 全聚德 right opposite the hotel, I read online that it's not really that good and it's really expensive, so we went to eat 便宜坊 instead. Quoting from an online source: 全聚德是外地人吃的，便宜坊是北京人吃的. So obviously 便宜坊 should be more authentic right!!

I got up earlier so after washing up, I went down to get Macs breakfast. RS couldn't survive without coffee, and somehow it was so difficult to get a coffee in BJ?? Maybe our area was too ulu.
Street view. Actually I had a pretty ok impression of BJ during this trip. At least this area looked quite new and clean.
Work was super boring that day. Not many visitors. I went to some nearby shopping mall 新奥购物中心 to get lunch. The local colleagues told me it was 3 min away, but it was so not?!?! Nevertheless, the shopping centre was quite nice. It was underground, and it was so damn huge!
There was a huge variety of food, and the one I wanted to eat the most was probably a dumpling restaurant that had quite a long queue. Too bad we didn't have time to eat proper food there.

Not sure why they are so obsessed with insects lol. Anyway, after eating we shopped around for a short while and went back on a 电动三轮车 which was twice the speed of taxi because it doesn't follow any sort of traffic regulations. When the cars move, it moves; when the pedestrians move, it also moves hahaha.

Work day. Expo in the morning and seminar in the afternoon. RS managed to drag me to the gym before dinner haha!
The gym was not bad!! I love the TV so much. Every gym should be like this man.
We wanted to eat 海底捞 for dinner but it was too crowded just like Singapore. In the end we chose a random 麻辣香锅 place. Ordered way to much again lol.
黄金馒头 is da best! :D

Basically spent the day on the plane. We got to the airport early, so RS brought me to the lounge! She has a VIP card for some reason.
Shouldn't have eaten Macs for breakfast if I knew we were going to the lounge haha! A lot of food there.
So that concluded my few days in Beijing. Not a bad experience, but service was really bad throughout the whole trip. Maybe 北方人 are really different from 南方人 lol. The way they talk just sounds extremely rude to me.
